I hit it as hard as I could and went out of bounds on right, was playing 3 off the tee which I scuffed and ended up with an 8, I felt sick, it was so frustrating, all the work of the holes earlier gone, in one stupid moment – why? Why had I lost it like that? It wasn’t exactly the Ryder Cup, playing more for pride than anything – you know what it’s like playing golf with your mates, they’re going to rib me for the rest of the day in club house, what was I thinking?

And that, my friend, is the trouble with us golfers, changing our minds at the last minute, which ends up costing us.

This is what started me thinking about the longest golf ball.
